Ive always had a very hard time focusing for extended periods of time. Ill be in the middle of studying and BOOM! Im waist deep in puppy videos on youtube or launching my own private investigation to see if kylie jenners lips are real. Intense. I know. This app and the Pomodoro Technique have a been a huge godsend for me and my amazing ability to "study" for hours and not really get anything done. The 25 minute sprints are perfect, long enough to get in the zone, but short enough to feel doable and avoid burnout. For these 25 minutes you must be relentless. Phone off. Work like someone is holding a gun to your head. And with the 5 minutes in between you can do whatever you want. Let your mind wander, read a book, anything to let your creative juices recharge. I love the unique bells to signify the beginnings and ends of each work period. This really helps structure my effort. Also, the charts that track the amount of work youve put in throughout the week and month are awesome.
